BrightSky NDIS online ordering: How it works

Agency-Managed (NDIA-Managed)

Participants who have plans that are managed by the NDIA involve the NDIA managing the participant’s funding and paying the participant’s chosen providers on their behalf.

After an order is placed, we’ll arrange payment with the NDIA. We’ll use the NDIS provider portal to confirm the funding for the order. This is called a service booking.

Plans on the NDIA’s new computer system PACE may require the participant to ‘endorse’ BrightSky as a provider via the NDIA.

Self-Managed

Participants who manage their own NDIS funding apply to the NDIA to provide them with funding to spend on their supports in their own way. Self-managed participants pay their own invoices and seek reimbursement from the NDIA.
The participant pays directly for their order using a credit card or other payment method. We’ll provide the invoice to claim reimbursement.

Plan-Managed

This is where an organisation, also known as a Plan Manager, supports the participant to manage their NDIS plan, helps manage the funding in the plan, and pays invoices.

After an order is placed, we’ll contact the Plan Manager to arrange payment.
